Yet another trip I was not involved in but edited. Riders are Quinn Silvernale, David Luker, Alex Graydon and Jeff Mathis. Good riding guys. Sorry it took me so long to edit.

Surf Expo - Distortion
Surf Expo is underway in Orlando. I tagged a long with Adam and the Distortion crew for the event so come by and check out the booth if you're at the show. I probably didn't need to tell you to come by though, the booth generates enough attention on its own. Check it out!

Weekend Video - Surfin
Wakesurfing has really been on my mind lately. I can assure everyone when I get back in the water I will be surfing minimal 30%-50% of my time on the water. Can Not Wait! In recognition of that here is a video of one of the the Slaysh Tank kids surfin. I like his style.

Work in Progress
BrightLawn's isn't just a badass landscape company. They might be pressing wakeskate's in 2011. Be on the look out for a new wakeskate to hit the streets.
Humanoid - Need A Video to Watch?
The Humanoid Blog has been pretty active lately which means more content. Right now there are 3 videos up on the homepage including one of myself from earlier this season at GRC. So if you get bored and need something else to surf the web about, head on over to Humanoidwake.com. Might as well build your own board while your at it in the Humanoid Art Lab. Bet ya didn't even know you could do that!

Heads Up - CIRE 2011 Boardies!

NW Memories - My TreeFort
So I honestly have no new content ready for today. I've been looking through my old hard drive to post some old skool stuff from my college video stash but came across this. Instead trying to motivate people to ride I'd motivate people to build for a change. This was my getaway treefort "Headquarters" I built while out in Washington living at Koppert Lake. So many good times 15 feet above ground. Many a good safety meetings were held with great friends and many new friends. Last I heard it was torn down, oh well...check it out though.

NorthPoint Wakeskate Rail Fail - Chris
I kept forgetting about this clip everytime I'd sit down to post but I finally remembered it. Kinda old, still had both knees working. I only took 2 wakeskate winch sets earlier this season. This is from one of em, kinda why I stick to wakeboarding. Enjoy a good laugh!

CIRE - More 2010 - Zarape
I really don't know how I'm making it right now. Recap: Quinn and the ALwake.com crew along with Shred Ready are in NC at East Coast Rail Park, Blake is now into winching and almost riding away from toe 7's, Russell just put in another new feature at our NorthPoint Rail Park, and I continuously hangout with Brad on his boat and watch everyone enjoy themselves doing whatever they want wake related. And on top of all that, Eric sends me yet another epic design for the 2011 CIRE Boardshorts Line. My best news is knowing officially I need shoulder surgery to fix my dislocation problem!! Can not wait til April 2011!

Friday Featured Fall - Blake Moore
So its definitely been a good week for Blake. Not only did he kill it Sunday in Helen, but he also snagged a nice little full box butt slide at the rail park before we headed out. So Blake here's the 4th post this week with your name all over it; 3 of which categorized "Be that guy", and 1 unfortunatly falling in category
"Don't be that guy".

Malibu Boat Owners Party Review - Shout Out
So last night Brad Beckham and I headed over to Sunset Cove to check out the Malibu party. I had no idea what to expect going into it, all I expected to see was tons of Malibu Boats and a bikini contest. Unfortunately I have no pictures of either, I went to have a good time and a good time was had. The new Axis A20 was even on display, I was pumped to see it. Ballin boat except for the dash…not impressed. We stuck around to watch the bikinis and then headed to the boat to chill for a little bit and plan our next move.
This is where the shout out comes in. We just happened to pull into a slip followed by another Malibu full of SCAD ladies that happened to know Slayden Johnson, which you now know I know from his pics a few weeks ago. Which they actually had been here to see too.
True Story - (before we officially introduced ourselves)
Brad - "So have you heard of Chris Moore?" (not that they were supposed to or anything)
Roxy - "Uh I don't think so, we ride with a guy named Slayden, his gear is actually in our boat."
Me - "Haha oh ya, I know Slayden."
Roxy - "Ya we were lookin at some pictures of him earlier on some safety wake site or something?"
Brad - "Oh ya? Thats this guys website...Chris Moore"
So we talked a little boat smack back and forth to the point where friendships were quickly made. Quick note to self – continuous poking fun of ladies in boats results positively…good to know. So thanks Roxy, Sophie, Debra and Dixie for a fun night even though I got made fun of for blogging but now your smiling because your names are on here! And I’m kinda disappointed I did not get any skate ollie pics at any point today.
So because I have zero pics from any points of the evening I am posting a pic of Brads Bu just so if anyone in the future sees it, make sure you flag us down and say whats up. Its also just beyond worthy of showing it to everyone. My personal nickname for it has always been the “Transformer” boat. If there was a boat in any of those movies, this would have been it. It does everything you need it to and then some, plus its the boat version of Bumblebee except black and red.

Nora Mill - The Video
Ya pictures are cool, personally I enjoy the art of photography more...but everyone on the internet these days loves video. I filmed a little bit, well I say filmed, its hard to say film when you're using a camera that looks like you are walking around trying to find service on a cell phone..."Can you hear me now?". Anyways, I filmed with the new Kodak PlaySport to make a small video of Blake droppin Nora Mill. Second time I've used this camera and I am still highly impressed with the quality. Ya the 1080p footage is a little shakey when hand held but not enough to scare me away. Next is a GoPro! Enjoy the video!

Sunday Funday - The Write-Up
I'm not gonna write a full article on our Sunday adventure but I will give you a little insight on our day. It started off kinda rough. Russell, Blake and I had planned on being at a rail park up north 400 at around 11. Of course no one answered their phone early enough to make that. Sucks when the only guy pumped at 9 AM is the camera guy/ACL recoveree/driver/not the guy getting to do the shredding. Anyways, we finally left around 11:45, and that is a complete guess. I really have no idea what time we left. All I know is we got to the rail park and the people we were meeting weren't, and since the lock on the gate was chained and unlocked we helped ourselves to a few quick pulls on the half submerged wallride.
What seemed like nothing good could come out of actually turned into some nice riding. Russell dropped a few quick bombs; a pressy noseslide, backlip to shuv out, and a backlip to back 90 out. So since that turned into a 20 minute sesh instead of a full day trip we headed to Sonic to discuss out next move. P.S. for future reference, the Sonic in Dawsonville is not a bad place to hang out...I'm just sayin. No plans were made, just good eatin.
So we finished eating and got back on the road heading north, with only 15 miles to decide where we were going we just figured head to Helen. Now in Helen there is mill, Nora Mill. This mill is heavily guarded by Civilians and North Georgia Mountain Patrol People, forgot their title all of a sudden. The mill itself still works, it currently grinds grains to make pancake mix to sell. Pretty cool, probably would have been a good idea to get some. The point is we had to no chance of making the drop happen until the place closed.
We had two options at this point, drive mountain trails and attempt to find a natural gap or tube the hooch in pink tubes. Obviously we went tubing for 2 hours. Nothing better then a nice relaxing tube ride to get you ready for a mill drop right? Rhetorical question but the only answer is yes. Unfortunately there were 0 hot girls on the river at the same time we were. Oh well, we came up there on a business trip anyways.
So we finished the tubing and headed back to the mill. Couldn't have been better timing, no one even in the parking lot except someone else snappin a few pictures of the Mill. So we quickly unloaded the winch and got out of sight from the road. Keep in mind you can see the drop from the road, but the winch was setup behind the mill down a hill so their really wasn't much chance of getting into trouble. Their definitely were plenty of No Trespassing signs though, apparently it is highly frowned upon to be down there.
Back to the winching, the whole point of the story. So Blake had never dropped anything before, and this wasn't the safest first drop atmosphere which made him a little more nervous. But so what, Blake didn't have a choice. We weren't leaving until he did it, and that was final. Russell walked it out with Blake for a while and discussed the attack plan while I got the camera gear ready.
With no arguing Blake grabbed his board, put on his booties and started the trek walking out the handle. 5 minutes later Blake had landed his first drop, and this wasn't an easy 4 foot drop. For one thing it was taller then Blake, which makes it about 8-9 feet tall. Second there were plenty of "would not be fun to hit" rocks to look out for. When I said Russell and Blake were planning an attack, it had to be precise and Blake nailed it. So after that he dropped a few steezy pokes for the camera and we were done. Packed it up and headed out.
All in all a great day; private rail park to pink tubes (with bottoms in them so no T-bagging) straight to Blakes first drop. I'm gonna have to say the day couldn't have gone better. And I apologize for the full article I said wouldn't happen.
CIRE - Late Summer Blow Out!!
Just looked at the CIRE site really for no reason but to see what was goin on with the homepage. Definitely a good find. Head on over and grab a pair of the most comfortable BSsss on the market.
Sunday Funday - Blake Moore
First I want to apologize for not posting anything Saturday and Sunday. We had a big day planned for Sunday so I was only thinking about it; full write up on that coming this afternoon! I just wanted to give everyone a heads up though. Blake Moore finally had the opportunity to make his first winch drop yesterday. Let me also add he was the first to do the drop, it had been untouched until now. Here's a tease and check back this afternoon for more pics and video. Congrats again Blake!!

Featured Fall - Raxel
I've been meaning to start a few themed picture days. Not something for everyday but every other day or so. Whatever works. Well I'm claiming Fridays as bust days. Its the beginning of the weekend and why not start it off with a good crash. An incintive to "not be that guy" this weekend. Well I hate for this to be Ryan's first appearance on the site but its a great picture to start the theme with. A quick frontboard to chesty. Luckily the board was ok haha.

10 Hits With Quinn
That last video was too much of a tease, which this one really is too, but when their powers combine... Anybody else watch Captain Planet??
This is the last of the Bama footage I am going to edit. Blake might go out of his way and edit some of the in boat video but no promises. Just a little dopeness from Quinn for you guys. Enjoy!

Blake and Quinn Visit Alabama
Alright finally got some editing done on the Bama video. The guys came back with way more footage then shown. I decided to go with one set each since they each had one of chase boat. Fun song to edit to! Great riding everyone! Quinn, I'm sorry I left out the killer roll to blind. Somehow I missed it in the footage so I apologize to everyone.

Rockwell for the Ladies
A new addition to the Rockwell Time line of watches late this season is the Mercedes and Vanessa women's watches. If I was a lady I'd for sure be rockin' the Mercedes Murdered Out version. With a 36mm band its almost right up my alley anyways. I highly suggest if you are a lady in the market for a new stylin' watch, which most of you always are even if you don't need it, follow the below link and check out the whole line. 17 new colors to be exact, which is more then twice as many as they had originally!

Blake and Russell at Clarks Creek
I'm not happy with the quality but the site needs some video, its not as bad as I make it seem. We got lucky and only had a few rain drops. Here's Blake and Russell doin what they do....
Clarks Creek Night Surf Set
As we were pulling in from a few sets last night we decided it would be a good idea to have a quick surf set. A quick surf set turned into a great photo op with my new flash. Definitely missed some good shots, but I blame my camera. Hardly had any battery so it was being very temperamental. Overall got some decent shots of Russell and Steve. Enjoy the album.

Video of Blake and Russell's sets coming this afternoon. And I am still pulling apart the Bama trip, I haven't forgotten about it.

Quinn Silvernale - Bama Dude Mans
This past week Quinn and my brother Blake took a trip to Lake Martin to ride with Alex Graydon and Jeff Mathis, AKA some of the higher ranking soldiers from ALwake.com. I've been slowly pulling the footage apart to make a trip video of the trip I did not partake in. 9 times out of 10 I would be upset and resistant to edit such a good time I was not a part of. But as I am looking over the footage I'm getting more amped just to get this video out for everyone. So between my non wakeboard related full time job and other daily activities I promise a video in the next few days. For now here is some pretty sick shots of Quinn showin out on Alex's "Eyebrow" rail. Enjoy!

NorthPoint NoseSlides Album
As promised here is the full album of Russell Brightwell and Slayden Johnson's sesh from yesterday. I played with a few new angles and I beleive things worked out. Luckily the water level has dropped since earlier in the season which allowed the splash to be less of an annoyance in the pictures. Besides Slayden getting mauled by more then a few yellow jackets while walking the rope out, the session went pretty smoothly. Enjoy!

CIRE 2011 - NEW Boardshorts Designs
I don't know about you guys but I am definitely getting pumped for the 2011 season. Maybe it has something to do with the fact my 2010 riding season has been over for 2 months already.
Well on a better note, Eric from CIRE Boardshorts just shot me over what designs he has for the 2011 line. I'm highly stoked on this line and it makes me hate sittin on the bench that much more. Thanks a lot Eric haha. Keep in mind this is what he has so far, more designs to come. Enjoy!

Meeting Safety Protocol - Researching Gravity
At the moment I am pushing to get as much content on the site as possible. But not just any content, the content I post must meet our not so strict, but legit "Safety Protocol".
This morning I was looking through a few random pictures I have on my work computer. There is no picture of myself shredding on the site yet so I thought I'd share.
Definitely pushing the limits...definitely keepin it safe.

Safety First - Not Just ATL
When I created Safety First Wake Blog I had no intentions of only posting about things I do or get involved with, its not called Chris Moore Blog for a reason. I wanted to create a blog that you would want to check more then occasionally for new content. And lets face it, if you checked everyday and saw the same 4 or 5 faces over and over again, you'd probably stop checking as often, if not stop checking period.
Throughout the years I have met some great people who are just as into exposing their local wake scene as much as I am. Keyword here is "local". So how does a local scene, lets say in North Carolina, get exposed to our local scene here in ATL. Well in most cases it doesn't. Its a definite fact that there are many territorial wake people within this industry, meaning the normal rider in his hometown wants the spotlight over the new guy who drove 5 hours for the rail jam.
I won't lie and try and say I never fit that mold, because I once did. These days I focus more on the bigger picture and try and meet as many new people as possible who share the same passion as me, shredding. So here on Safety First Wake Blog you will often be reading many posts with content focused on local scenes outside of Atlanta.
First up is some photography from Scott Hutson. I met Scott on a random trip to Gravity Research Compound. Scott had come down to Atlanta for business and Edgar Perez had mentioned to him Quinn, Edgar and I would be doing some night winching on an uprail. Sure enough Scott made the 2.5 hour drive down from ATL just to snap a few photos. Showing much dedication and love for wake I immediatly had respect for Scott and his work.
Although these are not photos of that night, Scott sent over some pics from a recent shoot he did on Lake Anna, VA with riders Kyle Barmoy, on the byerly, and Gordon Harrison, on the watson classic. Both representing for Stultz Clothing Co. and Bay Watersports.
Enjoy Safety First's first non-ATL rider based photo album.

Kettle O' Fish - Bama Stone Pit
Here in ATL there is one thing thats certain about our riders...we love winchin. I know there is nothing special about us loving winching vs anybody else's love for winching, I just wanted to make it clear. First off its hard not to when the man himself, Adam Hart - creator of Distortion Winches, resides right down the street. So once more, Safety First loves winching.
So in order to spotlight our love for winching we will be posting small stories with pics, and if your lucky...video, of the winching adventures we either get into or here about. Now I wanted to have a cool name for the posts that pertain to winching so i googled "synonym location". The first synonym that caught my eye was "kettle of fish". So from here on out if you spot a post that starts with Kettle O' Fish, you can guarantee someone had a good time and there will be some rad pics.
So for the first Kettle O' Fish I thought it no more appropriate then to highlight Vinny's Snaps Pic Gap that I am crowing Bama Stone Pit. So without further uhdyou....
Getting lost on the way to a rail jam is not always a bad thing. We found this spot completely on accident, and if we hadn't found it, no one would have told us about it. Apparently its been viewed, thought about, but never hit. Your guess is as good as mine to why not?
The setup is nothing more then perfect. With the shetay economy we are living in there are tons of housing developments going under. Luckily for us they started this one bass ackwards. They literally built all the small neighborhood features before one house went up, which includes this supposed to be flowing channel of small ponds and drops. My guess here is the water would be right at the bottom of the rock walls, so this would only be a 2 foot drop had it been finished. Start on grass for 15 feet, drop into the channel thats about a 50 foot or so length, drop 6 feet down and land in a pool with a liner about 3 feet deep. Land it and ride up on the bank. Easy as said...if your Vinny Knapp.
Vinny hit it a few times just to snap a few good pics of the nuclear, then headed to the rail jam. We went back the next afternoon to finish the deed. Back 3, Heel 5 and Ollie down on the skate is the drops bag o tricks currently. Like I said, no houses are in the hood, and its off the main road far enough I'd have to say there are no chances of getting kicked out. We had a few walkers interested in the festivities, probably the only traffic the street gets. I would highly suggest wearing shoes in the pond. I chose to go barefoot for the pics and had to be winched out it was so slick with muck.
Overall it gets a 100 on my scoreboard. Makes having a recovering ACL that much more of a burden.

Here Goes Nothin...
Whats up everybody,
Lately I have been privaliged enough to be part of many great small adventures in the southeast. For the most part I have tried to either A, send everything to Alliance in hopes of it getting posted, or B, post everything on Facebook which I am entirely over. Not a big fan of Facebook in the first place and posting wakeboard stuff all over it keeps me on the site more then I need to be. So a blog is my only resort. I have resisted starting one for long enough and finally have caved.
So welcome everyone to SafetyFirstWake.com. Here I will be posting anything and everything I can get my hands on wake/nonsense related pertaining to our adventures, lifestyle and events. I will be mostly highlighting old and new friends throughout this blogs life, you will not find content from other wake related blogs. Safety First Wake is ALL original content. We'll see how long this lasts, hopefully a while. So lets all have fun and enjoy our passion...WAKE!
